Animal Welfare
Thankfully there are many charities, both across the UK and around the world, who strive to put an end to cruelty to animals. However, they can only continue to do so with the help and support of people like you.
It’s distressing to think that so many animals suffer at the hands of man, both in their natural surroundings and in their captive state. And too many animals that share our homes as pets, or that we farm for our own benefit, are neglected: treated without the dignity and respect that they deserve. By choosing to support an animal welfare charity you can help to end such unfair treatment both now and in the future. Your gift may assist in implementing changes in the law or help organisations care for neglected animals, through the provision of sanctuary and by offering specialist veterinary care.

2010 marked the 175th anniversary of the legislation which banned dog fighting in the UK, but sadly it still continues. There is a 400% increase in recent years, with large increases within specific communities within the UK. Worryingly, the latest phenomenon: urban dog fighting, where people are setting their dogs onto urban foxes. This is either a straight kill, or the fox is caught and tied to a tree.
